Lily Flower Silicone Mould - Large Open Bloom with Recurved Petals and Stamens for Fondant, Gum Paste, Chocolate and Resin Craft

A lily with its petals actually turned back, which is the shape that separates a real lily from a flat star-shaped flower. The cavity is cut deep so each of the six petals curls and twists away from the centre at a different angle rather than sitting in one plane - and that is what makes the demoulded flower look like it grew rather than like it was stamped. Every petal carries the long central rib and the fine lengthwise veining running tip to base, and the prominent stamens stand proud in the middle: brush those alone in gold or a contrasting colour, as in the sample, and the whole flower comes alive with about ten seconds of work. Lilies are the flower people ask for on funeral and remembrance cakes, weddings, christenings and anniversaries, so this is a shape that earns its place in permanent stock rather than one you buy for a single order. The mould gives one large open bloom, big enough to be the single feature on a cake side or the top, and two or three cast together read as a spray. Food grade silicone, flexible and non-stick, so the recurved petal tips and the fine stamens release without snapping - which is where a rigid mould ruins this shape. Works with fondant, gum paste, flower paste, modelling chocolate and chocolate, and with polymer clay, resin, soap, wax and plaster.
